Past President Receives Honorary Alumni Award from UW-Milwaukee

Walter Wilson, FAIA was named the UWM Alumni Association's Honorary Alumni awardee for 2023.
Award recipients were chosen based on their outstanding professional achievements, civic involvement, and partnerships with the university.

Walter Wilson has been giving back to the UWM School of Architecture & Urban Planning and the greater Milwaukee area for the past four decades. He opened his architectural firm, The Wilson Firm, Ltd., in 1985 and was appointed principal architect for Milwaukee County in 2001, retiring in 2013. Wilson began an adjunct teaching position at UWM in the late 1980s and has been a guest lecturer, studio instructor, and critic many times over the years. As a lifelong learner, he continues his architectural consulting, planning, and development work under Design 4U (D4U).

They may be deductible as trade or business expenses if ordi­nary and necessary in the conduct of the taxpayer's business. The organization may be required to make certain disclosures and pay a proxy tax in connection with the dues payment.
